My name is Malina and I am a loser. I was born at a very young age, and have since grown into a teenage dirtbag, baby. My dirtbag interests include comics books and sci-fi shows and literature and music (indie, punk, psychobilly, etc.) and great thinkers and making the world a better place. I am a 1950s kind of gal, but only when I can forget that I would've had to drink from a colored water fountain. There is nothing I believe in but fantasy and outer space. To sum it up, I'm essentially a real-life Poison Ivy, except for the homicidal mania and the finesse.

Naomi Watts as Kitty Fane in the 2006 film adaptation of The Painted Veil.
All right, it’s time to get some ovaries on this blog. As far as naive adulteresses go, Kitty Fane is pretty goddamn lovable. Technically, yes, she does cheat on her husband with Charles Townsend but it was a loveless marriage anyway and she believed she was in love with Charles. She’s really just a romantic, which we’re willing to forgive her for because she’s also a badass. And when her husband forces her to go to the heart of a Chinese cholera epidemic, she puts on a brave face and toughens up (eventually). SHE BEFRIENDS NUNS, that’s how beautiful a person this woman becomes. NUNS, like from FRANCE, nuns. Kitty Fane is a goddess. And when she returns to Hong Kong for reasons that shall not be disclosed (normally, we don’t give a damn about spoiling books for you guys, but we’re making an exception. go out and read this book now.), she breaks it off with Charles and becomes a strong, independent woman who doesn’t take shit from anyone. Basically, we adore Kitty Fane, who is a true literary character we would do.

Hey it’s going to get annoying as balls for me to keep reblogging these posts, so you should just get your life together and follow the new blog Cindie and I started before I have to beg (I’m pretty pretty goddamn close.)
